About Me

I am Stephanie Pletts and I have a Nursing background. I qualified in Adult Nursing in 1987 and specialised in Renal Nursing for 30 years. I was a Senior Sister in Haemodialysis for many years and then joined the Transplant Team as a Transplant Nurse Specialist. I am deeply passionate about caring for others and my compassion took a new path and one that I did not anticipate.
In 2018 I decided to retire and found I had plenty of time to myself. I joined local yoga classes and found my unexpected new passion. After a few months I knew I would love to teach others and share the amazing benefits that yoga brings to the mind, body and nervous system, a holistic approach to transformative well-being. I also knew that I wanted to make yoga accessible to those who possibly would or could not attend regular classes due to medical or mental health reasons…but I wasn’t at this stage sure how I would achieve this goal.
After some research I started my teacher training with Steve Harrison, founder of the Living Yoga Method (LYM) at The Yoga Sanctuary, Southampton, in 2020-21. The LYM is a systematic approach to the ancient technologies of yoga combining timeless wisdom with modern science and practical techniques and this method was created to thoroughly empower its practitioners though the avenues of breath, mind and body.
There are five components to the LYM: Breath Training, Posture Training, Mindset Training, Cold Water training and Digestion Training. These combined components supports those who wish to tap into new levels of energy, shift psychological states at will, build a robust and stress resilient nervous system and upgrade overall health and vitality.
Breath Training and the transformative power of the breath enhances our internal chemistry and resets the mind to create a positive state change. The benefits of this practice is truly transformational and is supported by strong scientific evidence and research. Breathing our way back to health and wellbeing encourages us all to take back responsibility and understand how our body can self heal, reducing the need for pharmaceutical reliance and dependence.
I started the Advanced Teacher Training Programme in September 2021 and and fully qualified as a Breath Coach in May 2022. My dream is to support those who live with terminal illnesses, have neuro-diversities, suffer with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or feel overwhelmed, anxious or depressed. Put simply, the LYM helped me at times of tremendous stress and anxiety and I feel passionate about sharing the tools and methodology with others to find the peace, health and happiness we all deserve.
Signature Yoga is a nod to my nursing background because I prescribed various aspects of renal regimes, treatment and care. I put my name to something that was scientifically proven to improve patient outcomes. Similarly, the LYM shares the tools and techniques for transformation and I feel both honoured and deeply privileged to sign my name to this ancient yet thoroughly modern technology.
The construction of Bluebell Cabin began as a summer house but I soon realised that this would be the most perfect place to teach yoga, breathwork and meditation. It is nestled under the trees at the bottom of the garden and is surrounded by bluebells in the spring. It is a peaceful retreat overlooking ancient woodland, a site of significant scientific interest (SSSI) and the upper reaches of the River Hamble, called Curbridge Creek.
